The founder's launch-day checklist

June 24, 2026 · 5 min read

Most listings that stall out on Launchline don't fail because the product is weak — they fail because launch day was treated as an afterthought instead of a plan. Here's what separates a listing that gets traction from one that quietly sits at zero.

Before you submit

  • A tagline under 100 characters that says what it does, not how it feels — "Inventory sync across every storefront you sell on" beats "The last inventory tool you'll ever need."
  • A logo that's legible at 32px — most visitors will only ever see it at card size in a grid, never full-size.
  • At least one real screenshot of the product doing something, not a marketing hero image.
  • A description that front-loads the specific problem you solve, since search engines and skimming readers both stop after the first sentence.

The first 48 hours

Upvotes and early comments compound — a listing with a handful of genuine early upvotes ranks higher in Trending, which surfaces it to more organic browsers, which produces more upvotes. Share your listing with people who'll actually use the product, not just anyone who'll click a button. A dozen upvotes from real prospective users beats a hundred from people who bounce immediately.

Reply to every comment and review in the first two days, even the critical ones. A founder who's visibly present reads as more trustworthy to the next visitor than a founder who isn't — and a thoughtful reply to a tough review often does more for credibility than the review itself did damage.

What not to do

Don't ask friends and family to upvote without using the product — reviews and comments carry more weight than raw upvote count for anyone actually evaluating whether to trust a listing, and hollow engagement is easy to spot. If you want visibility while you build a genuine base, that's what the visibility tiers are for — a paid Boost is honest; a coordinated upvote ring isn't.
